BORN AGAIN - WHAT JESUS MEANT 4:
(Born From God's Will)

*[[Joh 1:13]] ISV* who were born, not merely in a genetic sense, nor from lust, nor from man’s desire, but from the will of God.

We have always thought that God has called us to get people 'born again'. Somehow, we have been made to believe that Jesus did a half job on the cross and we are here to do the remaining half to make His work complete. Yet on the cross Jesus proclaimed, "It is finished", not, "I have done my part so over to you guys".

When we understand that Jesus was actually talking about 'born from above' or the New Covenant, then we will realise that it's all His doing, from start to finish. The Translation for Translators tells us that it was God who caused humanity to become His children. In other words, He did not ask for anyone's opinion.

*[[Joh 1:13]] T4T* We became like God's children, not because our ancestors belonged to God, or because of someone's sexual desires, nor because some man desired to have children like himself. *Instead, we were caused by God {God caused us} to become like his children.*

The next time we see the term 'born again' in scripture is in the epistle of Peter. And he also made it abundantly clear that man had nothing to do with this new birth...

*[[1Pe 1:23]] KJ2000* Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.

"So Bro Afriyie, when did this new birth take place?" Peter goes further to tell us that this new birth was made possible because of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

*[[1Pe 1:3]] NET* Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! *By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,*

Finally, uncle James adds his voice to that of Peter and John and confirms that this new birth is actually by the will of God and word of God. And we know from John 1:1-6 that the word is Jesus Christ

*[[Jas 1:18]] ISV* In accordance with his will he made us his children by the word of truth, so that we might become the most important of his creatures.

You see, giving birth to a child, naturally, takes the will or decision of the mother and father without the child's consent. The same way, humanity is a product of Papa God and the New Covenant (Heavenly Jerusalem)

*[[Gal 4:26]] EasyEnglish* But the Jerusalem that is above is free. And that Jerusalem is our mother.
