*[[Psa 133:2]] ISV* It is like precious oil on the head,
descending to the beard— even to Aaron’s beard— and flowing down to the edge of
his robes.
Many have taken the story of Elisha and Elijah out of its
context and taught that the anointing of God is transferred or inherited from
another man. But what they fail to see is that Elisha and Elijah lived under
the Old Covenant. The Spirit was given in "measure" then.
The whole of Psalm 133 was a prophetic picture of what Jesus
was going to do. Aaron was a high
priest, a typology of Christ (not a pastor). Jesus came as our High Priest to
unite all humanity and make one man out of all (no matter the tribe,
nationality, skin colour or religious affiliation).
Jesus is the head of the Church. He is the first born among
many brethren so He came for a family reunion. So when the opening scripture
talked about the oil flowing from the head of the high priest it was saying the
anointing flows from Jesus Christ.
Until you grasp this,
you will always seek anointing from a human when it is the Head (Christ)
who nourishes the Body (individual and collective Church).
*[[Col 2:19]] ISV* He does not hold on to the head, from
whom the whole body, which is nourished and held together by its joints and
ligaments, grows as God enables it.
When Psalm 133 talked about "commanding the
blessing" it was referring to what the high priest does. After he has
finished offering for the sins of the people, the high priest would come and
pronounce blessings on the people. The same way Jesus our High Priest, after He
had finished taking away sins, released all the blessings of Heaven upon
humanity.
Beloved, you have an anointing from the Most High -not from
man (1 Jn 2:20 & 27). You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in
heavenly places. You are now the treasury of heaven. You can only manifest the
anointing to the extent that you are conscious of it's residence in you.
Shalom!!!
