*[[Heb 2:8]] KJV* Thou hast put all things in subjection
under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing
that is not put under him. *But now we see not yet all things put under him.*
There has been a bit of confusion among some folks
concerning sickness, curses, etc. When you tell them the New Heaven and Earth
is already here, they ask; "Why then are people falling sick?" When
you tell them that the devil has been disarmed and that no demon has power over
the new creation, they ask; "What about ancestral curses, demons
possessing believers and spiritual marriage?"
The answer to all these is found in our opening scripture.
Everything has been put under the feet of the New Creation. However, the
problem lies in this statement, *"But now we see not yet all things put
under him (man).*
You see, you can never exercise authority over anything
unless you know you have jurisdiction. Similarly, if you don't know you are the
commander/king, you'll end up saluting your subordinates. The lack of knowledge
(of who they are) is simply what is causing folks to be buffetted by the
defeated foe.
But in the next verse, the apostle quickly points us in the
right direction. He tells us to see ourselves in the glorified Jesus - our true
position.
*[[Heb 2:9]] KJV* But we see Jesus, who was made a little
lower than the angels for the suffering of death, *crowned with glory and
honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.*
In other words, we are not to define ourselves by our experiences,
but by the finished works of Christ Jesus.
That's why whenever Paul was praying for the saints, he
would ask that they would be filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in
the knowledge of Christ (Eph 1:17-23). That's my prayer for you too. Shalom!!!
