    WHAT WAS THE OLD COVENANT?

*[[Deu 4:13]] KJV* And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

Almost all christians agree that the Old Covenant has passed away. Yet, many would argue and sometime label you as lawless when you say that the 10 Commandments have been abolished. This is usually what happens when we don't make a thorough study of scriptures.

To really understand this subject, we need to know what exactly constituted the Old Covenant. And Moses helps us with that just fine.

In our opening scripture, Moses was recounting to the Israelites how God cut a covenant with them. He then went a step further and defined the Covenant as the 10 Commandments.

Now, if Jesus set aside the Old Covenant and established the New, then what does it tell us either than the abolishment of the 10 Commandments. This was the same that Paul referred to as the ministry of death and condemnation.

*[[2Co 3:7]] NET* But if the ministry that produced death – carved in letters on stone tablets – came with glory, so that the Israelites could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face (a glory which was made ineffective),

Beloved the New has come. The ministry written on stones have been cancelled. Enjoy the God-life. Shalom!!!
