    THE SOLOMON GENERATION:

    *[[1Ki 5:1-4/KJV]]*  1 And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants unto Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David. 2 And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,  3 Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.  4 But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.

    David was a typology of Jesus. All his life, he fought his enemies and brought peace to Israel. The nation Israel also typifies the Church (the New Jerusalem). Just as God put David's enemies under his feet, He also put the enemy under Jesus' feet. Jesus came to defeat the enemy (sin) in order for us to have rest.

    Just as Solomon was anointed in the place of David, we have been anointed as kings and priests in the place of Jesus today. Since Jesus has fought all the battles, He only expect us to enjoy the rest He has acquired for us. He WORKED so we can REST.

    So what then? Just as God gave Solomon wisdom to live in that rest, He has also given Jesus for wisdom to us....

    *[[1Co 1:30]] WMTH* But you –and it is all God's doing– are in Christ Jesus: He has become for us a wisdom which is from God, consisting of righteousness and sanctification and deliverance;

    The problem we face today is not the devil but as a result of ignorance. Get understanding of the times and you will know what to do.

    When we think we ought to do something in order to merit what God has already given through Jesus' offering, then we doubt the very utterances of God. Solomon never took lightly the promises of God. Instead, he blessed and glorified God for their fulfilment. That should be our attitude today.

    *[[1Ki 8:56]] KJV* Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised... Shalom!!!
